         Peru!!!

I just went to Peru! On the plane ride we went over Cuzco and I  knew that I wanted to go there on my trip. When we got to Lima  we  Checked into the hotel and set our stuff down. Then we went to eat. We had some Juane de gallina. It was so good.  I realized why they are rated as one of the best places for food.

Once we were done we went to the pool and started swimming. After a while we decided to go to Cuzco. It was a long hike but when we got to the top it was worth it! It was amazing to see all of the old Inca buildings. I couldn't believe how they got all of those buildings up there.  The town square was really cool. It was amazing how big those rocks were that made up the city. Most were bigger than my dad!

Machu Picchu was so cool. No wonder they call it the star attraction of Cuzco. Some people said that it was one of the worlds finest examples of architecture. I could understand why. It was really beautiful.  It must have taken years to get everything to look that way.  Another interesting thing I learned was that Mach Picchu means old mountain in the Inca language.

        A few months ago I visited Honduras. While I was there I did lots of fun things like went shopping, tried new fruits, and went on boat rides. It was really fun because every day we were served breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and whatever was left in between.

    The first day I was there, I went to Roatan. It was really fun because I got to go to a bunch of shops around the island and meet new people. I experienced a lot of different cultures that day. In Roatan, there were a lot of gift shops that had hand made things in them, but it was all over priced and smelled weird. There were people on the streets selling things off wooden carts like fruit and scarves and sometimes even animals.

    The second day, I decided to check into a hotel called Anthony Key's Resort. There, I booked a bunch of fun activities to do. The first thing I did was went to breakfast, then I kayaked to the little island next to it with the dolphins called Bailey's Key. It was really fun because I got to scuba dive with the dolphins on the ocean floor. The next thing I booked was the shark dive. It was really fun because I got to touch the sharks and swim with them underwater too!

   On the third day of vacation, I went to the zip line tour. It was fifteen zip lines for only fifty-five dollars a person, plus we got to see and hold monkeys. When we were zip lining we got to see all kinds of animals on the path like two iguanas, about a hundred turtles under the bridge, and a few crocodiles. There were some toucans in their exhibit along with another crocodile and a real angry looking chimpanzee. My favorite part about the whole trip though, was seeing the monkeys. I loved it because right as I was waiting my turn to hold a wild monkey that lived in the rain forest that one of the workers had picked up, a wild monkey came running out of the forest and ran up my left leg.

Amaya Wininger - My Trip To Peru

        Last week my friends and I went of an amazing trip to Peru.  We only had three days to be there so we went to one place per day.  This is the story of my trip to Peru.

        First we went to a monastery in Arequipa called Santa Catalina.  I took the tour and it was amazing.  The main attraction (for me) was the Center Square of the monastery.  It was filled with beautifully colored flowers.  There was a fountain that I was informed came from Spain.

         Next I went to Chiclayo.  This is where we found the Royal Tombs of Sipan.  The man's real title is: Lord of Sipan.  People were able to digitally reconstruct what he looked like, how old he was at the time of his death, and he was approximately 1.63 meters tall.

        Finally we went to Cusco.  I didn't have a lot of time this day because I had to catch a plane at 4 o'clock p.m.  I went to a shrine called Qenqo.  Qenqo is a hill that is carved into many different kinds of buildings.  I walked to a patio that was quite popular around there.  There was a picture made of stones that represented someone that looked very popular in the ancient world of the Incas.

                               ARGENTINA, ARGENTINA!                 Iguaza Falls is one of the most known sight for visitors to visit. When i went there i saw the spectacular 270 water falls. It felt very calm there like i could meditate there. 

Perito Moreno Glaciers, is also the most know sight for visitors to visit. If your lucky like me you will see some ice crack and fall of its just a beautiful sight.

Bariloche is a beautiful little town! it makes me feel like i am in the movie Beetle Juice. You also have a clear view of the mountains there.

My Trip To Peru

     A couple months ago I went to Peru because I like to visit historical sites. I went to visit the ancient temples of the Incas. First I went to cuzco and just drove around and looked at everything. While I was driving around and looking at everything I was trying to decide what to tour the next two days. I decided on Machu Pichu and the Koracancha Temple.

 

     The next day i went to Machu Pichu. I loved it because the place was huge. The Incan Temple was so fascinating. The Incan trail led up to this huge temple covered in mossy stone bricks and inside incan writing lined the walls telling old and ancient writing, that archeologists were still trying to decode.

 

     The day after that i went to the second coolest temple, in my opinion. The Koraconcha Temple. The walls were made of polished stone, sheathed in silver and gold. It wasnt as big as the Incan temle at Machu Pichu, But it was just as fascinating.

     Last week, I visited Chile and went to Santiago's Downtown Area. It's one of the most beautiful places ever! While I was there I stayed at Tierra Atacama Hotel And Spa. It was a really nice hotel and was rated with four stars! Santiago's Downtown Area was beautiful as well. In my own opinion, I would compare it to New York City. It's very busy and it has a lot of traveling on the streets and on the sidewalks, especially at night. During the night the whole downtown is lit up. It's so pretty! 

      After I visited Santiago's Downtown Area, I went to the Beach House of Poet Pablo Neruda. The water there is so blue and clear. You can even take a boat and go on a tour around the beach. Also, when I was taking that tour, I saw dolphins! Dolphins are the cutest animals! I was going to hop in and swim with them but the water was really cold. Anyways, as I was heading back towards the land, I couldn't stop thinking about all of the great food I was going to eat. Lunch time!

   
      Chile's food is great, but probably not as great as when I went to the Strait of Magellan. It's like a big hill of water coming down into a calm lake. The strait is the most important passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, but it is a difficult route to sail because of the winds and skinny passages. It's so pretty there but you have to be careful, it could be dangerous, and really wet!

I saw many sights in Peru, Had so much fun there! I first went to there mane attraction, Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu This ruin is 7,000 feet above sea level. Its amazing thick stone walls give it beautiful texture and Its complex structure was to die for. This was The most memorable vacation of my life. The guide told us that Archaeologists estimate that about 1,200 people could have lived there. The history of this place is complex and fascinating, built as an enchant Inca village. Its one of the worlds most important sits ever! This was my favorite site and I enjoyed every bit of it!(http://www.peru-machu-picchu.com/)
         But this wasn't all I saw, next I went to the Pisac Ruins. These ruins were much like Machu Picchu, They were also found in the mountains and were also carved by stone. This amazing ruin had beautiful channels, well preserved temples, and a breathtaking view.        Lastly we visited a place called Casa Hacienda San Jose. There we stayed in a Hotel for three nights. This place is famous for its earthquake in 2007. Its a famous chapel that dates from 1688.       Over all I had an amazing time in Peru. I hope I can go there again some time.
